  Michael Hardin, CFP®, CLU®, CLF®
  Managing Partner





Michael has been in the financial services industry for 22 years.  He has been an Advisor, Partner, Corporate Vice President, and Managing Partner.  He joined New York Life as a direct appointment Partner in February 2007 in the Greater Atlanta General Office.  He was the #1 Partner in the South-Central Zone in 2009.  Michael was promoted to Managing Partner in January of 2011 to the Montgomery Alabama General Office.  He spent five years in Montgomery while picking up various trophies such as “View from The Top”, Life Award of Excellence, and Investment Annuity.  Under his leadership, Montgomery grew in Manpower for five straight years.  

In January of 2016, Michael was promoted to Corporate Vice President of the South-Central Zone team.  His responsibilities included the management and growth of Recruiting and Retention across the 33 General Offices and 14 states.  He spent three years in this role.

In January of 2019, Michael was promoted to Managing Partner of the New Orleans General Office.  After a year in his current role, the office has doubled its management team and grown in all areas of the business.  

Prior to New York Life, Michael served as a Financial Advisor and Manager for another Financial Services company where he was the #1 Agent in the company for two straight years.  He also earned District Manager of the Year for the company in 2002 and runner up in 2003.

Michael graduated from Auburn University with his Bachelor of Science of Civil Engineering in 1996 and Masters in Civil Engineering in 1997.  During his first two years at Auburn, he played on the Auburn basketball team. 

Michael and his wife, Laurie, have been married for almost 23 years and have 3 children: Sydney Jordan, Savannah Rose and Maxwell Lee.  He enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and attending athletic events. 



Oliver J Reeves
Sales Development Manager

OJ has been in the financial services industry for 10 years. He started his career at New York Life December of 2010. As an agent he was a career success award winner in 2011 acquiring 50 clients and his first 6 months. Life Sales All-Star, Centurion agent in his first council year with over 100 applied cases and 84 paid. A three-time executive council agent.

In June of 2017, OJ was promoted to Development Manager of the Albuquerque, New Mexico General Office. His responsibilities included growth, development and retention of agents in the entire state of New Mexico. In June of 2018, OJ was promoted to the development manager of the New Orleans, Louisiana General Office. Here in New Orleans his responsibilities still include growth, development and retention of agents his responsibilities increased management support.

Prior to New York Life OJ worked in the entertainment industry managing a multimillion-dollar artist.  OJ graduated from Tuskegee University with a bachelor's degree of science in finance in 2003.  OJ is a native of Mobile, Alabama "Home of the Mardi Gras" and is a huge sports fan and love to travel and experience new things.




  Joseph Pepe


"Joe Pepe began his career with New York Life in 2012 as an Agent in the New Orleans General Office.  Joe protected over 100 families per year which earned him the Centurion award.  Most of his business came directly from local business owners who needed help in planning for their future.

Joe attained Executive Council two consecutive years. After 3 1/2 years working with clients, Pepe was promoted to Partner and was included in New York Life's first Associate Partner Program. After 6 months he was promoted to Partner and continues to build an incredible team of Financial Professionals in the Greater New Orleans Area. 

Joe and his wife Kristen reside in Slidell, LA with their 3 children, Jude Alexander, Emersyn Brielle, and Lucas Nathaniel."




  Corey Kiper


Corey has been in the finance industry for 7 years.  He has been an Advisor, Associate Partner, and Partner.  He began his career with New York Life in the New Orleans General Office.  He was the the #1 New Partner in the West-Central Zone.  While Partner, Corey has picked up various trophies such as “View from the Top” and the “Excellence in Recruiting” during his tenure.

Prior to New York Life, Corey served as a Corpsman with the US Navy where he distinguished himself.  Upon completing his service, he became a High School teacher for 8 years where he taught philosophy and theology.

Corey graduated from UL at Lafayette with his Bachelors of Liberal Arts in Philosophy and a Masters of Liberal Arts in Theology.  He also is an Ambassador with the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce and sits on the Board as Vice-Chair for Court Watch New Orleans.

Corey and his wife, Laura, have been married for 17 years and have 4 children: Victoria, Avila, Hugo, and Hans.  He enjoys spending time with his family, hunting and fishing, hiking, and traveling.




  Eli Burrows
  Senior Partner


Eli Burrows moved to New Orleans 12 years ago from Boston, MA. He studied psychology and finance at Tulane University and upon graduation went into the education field teaching 5th grade math. After that, Eli made the transition to a career in financial services where he became a 2-time executive council agent with NYL.

He then got promoted to associate partner and graduated to full time partner. He used the skills and relationships he acquired in teaching to help coach his new agents on how to build a practice and help families with financial foundations.

He is engaged to be married to his longtime girlfriend Jill in 2020.  Grateful that he found a home that he loves Eli hopes he can do his part to have a positive impact on the city.





  Peter Jilkov



Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, Peter moved to New Orleans at the age of 16. He earned a degree of Bachelor of Science in Finance from University of New Orleans in 2010.

After joining New York Life in the spring of 2011, Peter quickly established as a leader in the office by earning The New Orleans General Office's New Org. Case Rate and Agency Life Case Rate Leader awards from 2012 to 2017. 

Peter was a Premier Executive Council member and Premier Centurion agent from 2013 to 2017.

In 2016 he won the The West Central Agencies Leading Life Case Producer award.

He also received the LifeStars Allstar award in 2014,2015 and 2018 and the LifeStars Superstars award in 2016 and 2017. 

In February 2018, He was promoted to a partner position at New York Life. He is on the fast track to becoming a Senior Partner by 2022 of the New Orleans General Office.

Peter enjoys tennis, volunteering and spending time with his sons Zachary and Vincent and wife Jackie. He is an active member in the New Orleans community.



  Christina Scalco









  Eric Ottemann


Eric has been in the financial services industry for 15 years.  He has been an Advisor, General Agent, and Associate Partner.  He joined New York Life in February 2015 in the New Orleans General Office. Eric was promoted to Associate Partner in August of 2019 in the New Orleans General Office.  He was the first advisor in the New Orleans General Office to earn the Life Foundation Award for placing over 100 life insurance policies in his first 12 months with New York Life.

In 2019, Eric will earn his 9th year as a member of Million Dollar Round Table, The Premier Financial Services Organization of Financial Services Professionals. Other awards that Eric has earned include the Agency Builder Award in 2013 from GAMA and General Agent of the Year 2013.

Prior to New York Life, Eric was a Field Agent and General Agent for Knights of Columbus. During his tenure he earned Top Ten Field Agent, Supreme Knights Club, and Qualifying Member of Million Dollar Round Table from 2007 to 2012.  As General Agent he earned Top 25 agency from 2013 to 2015.

Eric and his wife, Cortney, have been married for over 16 years and have 3 children.  He enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and attending athletic events. 



Tyler Aymond


Tyler has been in the financial services industry for three years. He was recruited straight out of college where he attended Louisiana State University, finishing with a B.S. in Finance.

Tyler worked as an Advisor for two years achieved Executive Council qualification for both years.  In addition, he won the Career Life Success award and All Star award.  In 2018, Tyler was a Top 25 producer in the West Central Zone. Through his hard work and dedication, he was promoted to Associate Partner for the New Orleans General Office.

Currently, he is successfully building a team of Financial Professionals to help individuals, families, and business owners achieve the goals that are important to them.




  Lynn Egnatchik
  Administrative Manager



Lynn Egnatchik is the Service Leader with the New  Orleans General Office of New York Life, where she  manages all new business processes, assists in the  training and development of our new recruits working      closely in partnership with Agency Managers, as well as  our clients and constituents in our Service areas.

Lynn has been employed with New York Life for 42 years and has traveled across the country training on various new business systems and pilot programs.
